Mercedes Benz 722.6 Five Speed Automatic Transmission

A Mercedes Benz 722.6 five speed automatic is a replacement option for a vehicle requiring the corresponding transmission variant. The complete transmission identification matters because different 722.6 versions can have application-specific hardware and electronic requirements. Match the unit to the vehicle before scheduling the replacement.

Provide the vehicle identification number and compare the full transmission code, connectors, mounting points, and output arrangement. Confirm torque converter inclusion and any electronic components in writing. The installing shop should inspect the cooler circuit and determine whether flushing or replacement is appropriate after the original failure. Programming, adaptation, fluids, labor, and transferred components are separate unless included on the invoice.
